These rosettes add a beautiful embellishment to the soundhole of a classical guitar. They are made from timber mosaic so each rosette actually contains thousands of individual pieces of coloured timber, which come together to form the pattern.Inlaying a rosette is one of the easiest ways to add tasteful embellishment to a guitar.In the past luthiers had to make mosaic rosettes from scratch in a lengthy process. These readymade rosettes are an easy way to get the same effect in a fraction of the time.A circular trench should be cut into the guitar top to accept the rosette. The best way to cut this is using a rotary tool with our Soundhole/Rosette jig and a Downcut router bit.Always wait to receive a rosette before routing the trench in order to get the size more accurate. Before installation seal the inside and outside edges with a light coat of glue or shellac to avoid black dye leaching into the endgrain of the top.
